Role in the project
Pioneer on electric vehicles, Renault is one of two OEMs involved in the project. Renault will lead the work relevant to operational and organizational issues concerning the deployment of use cases and the business models associated. We will also provide some vehicles to test NeMo services and data related to these cars.
The Renault group is a French automaker. It is linked to the Japanese car manufacturer Nissan since 1999 through the Renault-Nissan alliance, which in 2016 is the fourth largest automotive group in the world. The Renault Group has factories and subsidiaries all over the world.
Renault ranks in the list of the most innovative companies in the world and stands as the carmaker that has most consistently introduced innovations since the start of automotive history. For Renault, innovating means designing and developing an affordable range of products and services that hold value for customers, and developing technologies that anticipate customer expectations. But it is also about creating the car of the future, by working on foresight and keeping a market watch.
To develop appealing and broadly affordable technologies, we work in three priority areas:
- Electric Vehicle
- Autonomous driving
- Connected cars & services
In order to allow EV market take off, RENAULT has been involved in many EU funded projects related to charging infrastructure and related services, such as
– Ten-T funded projects to develop QC along the highways
– Green e-Motion, Mobi-Europe, PlanGridEv
